Windows Key Viewer

The Windows product key is a 25-characters long code required to activate Microsoft’s operating system. Although this key is stored within the operating system, Microsoft doesn’t offer a means of accessing it. You’ll need to turn to a 3rd party application such as the aptly named Windows Key Viewer (or any of these 10 other free applications).

Windows Key Viewer is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8 or 8.1, and Windows 10. You’ll be glad to know that the application doesn’t need to be installed. To get started with it you just need to download an executable and run it. Windows Key Viewer will launch and display the Windows key in its original format.

Windows Key Viewer presents the following on its interface: your Windows product key; information on what Windows edition your PC is running (Windows 8.1 32-bit for example); the option to copy the Windows product key to the clipboard; and the option to send the product key via email.

What’s there to say about using Windows Key Viewer? Simply launch the application and it will present your Windows product key. If you want to copy the key to the clipboard, click on the Copy button. And if you want to share the product key via email, then select Email, enter a valid email address, and press Send.
